Community Guidelines
Last updated: August 2026
1.What this space is
The InsideMind community is a place where users can write honestly about their relationships, their patterns and what they are learning, and read what other users have written. It is a publishing space, closer to a collection of essays than a chat room. You write under your own name. That is deliberate. Writing as yourself changes what you say, and what people say here is worth reading because of it.
Most of what you read here will be reflection, not advice. Nobody in the community is your coach, and nobody's post is a prescription for your life. Take what is useful. Leave the rest.
2.What is welcome
- Your own experience, in your own words. What happened, what you noticed, what you are trying to do differently.
- Honest reflection on the programme, the modules and what they brought up for you.
- Replies that respond to what someone actually wrote. Questions, recognition, a different view offered with care.
- Disagreement. You do not have to agree with a post to reply to it. You do have to be decent about it.
3.What is not
Some of this is obvious and some of it is specific to a space like this one. All of it applies.
Cruelty. Abuse, harassment, threats or hate of any kind, including towards someone who is not a member.
Harm. Content that encourages or describes methods of self harm, suicide or disordered eating. If you are struggling with any of these, please see our Safety and Support page. If you are writing about having come through them, that is welcome, but keep method and detail out of it.
Other people's privacy. Naming, describing or sharing images of a partner, ex partner or anyone else in a way that would let others identify them. Write about your experience of the relationship, not about them as a person the rest of us can find.
Children. Anything sexual, exploitative or harmful involving a child, or any attempt to contact or groom a child. This is reported to the authorities, not just removed.
Pretending to be qualified. Posing as a therapist, psychologist, doctor or other professional if you are not one, or giving clinical advice as if you were.
Selling. Advertising, affiliate links, recruitment for other services, or using the community to take clients or members off the platform. Coaches on InsideMind have agreed not to do this and so have you, in the Terms.
Pressure. Asking other members for their phone number, address, money or personal details. Friendships form here, and that is good. Move the conversation off InsideMind when you both want to, not because someone pressed.
Noise. Posting the same thing repeatedly, flooding replies, or using the community as a notice board.
The law. Anything that breaks the law or the InsideMind Terms of Service.
4.If you see something
Every post, reply and profile has a Report option. Choose the reason that fits best and add a note if it helps. Reports are confidential. The person you report is not told who reported them.
You can also block any member from their profile. Blocking is immediate and silent. They will not see your posts and cannot reply to you or contact you. You can unblock later if you change your mind.
If you are worried about another member's safety rather than their behaviour, say so in the report note. We will do what we can with what we can see, but we are not an emergency service and we cannot send help. If someone is in danger, the numbers on our Safety and Support page are the right place.
5.What happens after you report
We look at every report. Most are reviewed within two working days. Reports about child safety, threats or someone at risk are looked at first.
If the post breaks these guidelines we remove it and tell the member why. For a first, minor breach that is usually the end of it.
Repeated or serious breaches lead to a temporary suspension, and for the most serious, or for anyone who keeps going, permanent removal from InsideMind.
We tell you what we decided. If we did not remove the post, we will say so. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that message and a second person will look again.
If your own post is removed and you disagree, you can appeal the same way. We will give you the reason and, if you ask, a second review.
Where the law requires it, or where we believe there is a serious risk to someone, we may pass information to the police or another authority.
6.Your posts
You own what you write. By publishing it here you let us show it to other members and, if the post is public, to people visiting InsideMind. You can edit or delete your posts at any time. If someone has replied to or quoted a post before you delete it, their reply may still be visible. Full details are in section 9 of the Terms of Service.
7.A last thing
Most of what keeps this space worth being in is not a rule. It is the habit of writing as if the person reading is someone you respect, and reading as if the person writing is doing something brave. They usually are.
